
The Faculty Development Programme is offering funding for young researchers (Ph.D, Postdoc and Assistant Professors) for Peer Projects carried out by a group of junior researchers.
Peers will not only profit from a mutual exchange but also from realizing a project, relevant for all peers.
Peer Projects have at least one of the following objectives:
• Enhance your competencies (methodological, professional, generic)
• Networking and exchange within the academic community
• Orientation within the academic system
• Functioning of an academic career
• Increase your own visibility and the impact of your research
Prerequisites
Funding will be awarded to projects that
• are initiated, designed and implemented by a group of at least three junior researchers. The majority of the group members must belong to the HSG
• extend over a period of max. two semester (extensions are possible)
• have a predefined budget between CHF 2`000 and CHF 3`000
Funding will not be awarded to
• projects that are part of a doctoral programme within the University of St.Gallen
• project that continue existing activities (within an institute, doctoral programme or student association)
• Co-authored scientific publications
Allocation of funds
For conferences, seminars or discussions formats:
• Expenses for room rentals at the HSG
• Catering for participants
• Travel and accommodation of international participants actively contributing to the event
• Organisation expenses

For training formats
• Fees and expenses related to trainers/coaches
• Catering for participants
For print, audio or video formats:
• Direct costs of production (fully or partly)
Application
Please submit your application no later than April 4 or October 10. The earliest possible starting date is 4 weeks after submission. You can find the application form in the download section on the right.
We recommend arranging an appointment with us prior to submission.
Evaluation
A HSG committee will assess the applications. The most promising projects will be awarded funding.
The following assessment criteria will apply:
• Quality of the application in terms of project objectives, focus and goals
• Set-up of goals, implementation of goals and objectives
• Importance and added value of the project with respect to research or academic career of the applicants/group
• Group set-up and added-value to the project
• Originality and feasibility of the project
• Cost-efficiency (matching funds are possible and highly welcome)
Implementation of the project
• After approval is granted the project can be launched
• The Faculty Development will refund the actual project expenses upon invoice (not exceeding the amount granted)
• A project report has to be submitted after completion of the project
